Project goal

The project of the Internet advertising monitoring provides our customers with all essential information to analyze advertising in the World Wide Web. The data enable to evaluate the amount and cost of advertisement in the Internet as well as to audit advertisement campaigns.

Basing on the said data, strategically important decisions are made at the media and advertisement market.

The Internet advertisement monitoring project was launched in the September of 2008. Presently, there are 200 web-sites under monitoring. Advertising agencies and advertisers are the main consumers of the project data.

Research method

The ads are processed according to the fixed list of web-sites. Special ‘robots’ provide search of advertisement in the Internet. One of them visits the monitored sites’ pages (about 200 web-sites) non-stop. Another (robot ‘Avatar’) checks all the sites, visited by Web Index project participants. The robot fixes all images, which, according to particular criteria, could be considered advertising. Then the advertising monitoring project specialists compare the selected images with samples from the advertisement library and provide further processing according to the monitoring rules.

Update rate

The project data come either as printed reports or in the format of the special data base software Palomars AdEx, AdExpress and i-Creative, available for the clients of advertising monitoring research in the Internet.

Data base of the relevant software updates according to the following schedule:

  • Daily aggregated data are provided regularly;
  • Data for a previous week are provided weekly on Fridays.
